The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music proudly presents Zawadi WaMungu on Wednesday 06 September 2023 at 17:30.

We kick off the Heritage month with Mandeni born vocalist Nkosingiphile Mpanza, known by her stage name ‘Zawadi Yamungu.’ Zawadi is known for her African consciousness and highlighting indigenous music. She passionately plays multiple indigenous musical instruments such as the pennywhistle, umakhweyana and ugubhu which complement Yamnungu’s stunning strong vocal talents.

She will be accompanied by UKZN Alumni and 7th Unisa national piano competition 2023 runner up Sibonelo Nxumalo on Piano and Buhle Hadabe  on drums and Lwazi Mlotshwa on bass.
