Sounds of Peace – Imvunge Yokuthula the theme of this year’s concert presents melodious peaceful sound waves to rejuvenate peace in our province, country, continent. The show will feature four main performers. Mjolisi, Mandisa Cebekhulu, LilyFaith, Victor Sithole. Each will present their unique style. Mjolisi a young maskandi lead guitarist who has a single out titled Baba kaEnzo. Mandisa an indigenous female artist whose voice has healing properties has recently released a single with NobuhleMusic titled Bayade. Joining this exquisite line up is multi-instrumentalist and UKZN Andrew Mellon Foundation Artist-in-Residence Victor Sithole. Sithole has travelled the world and is a well-known multi-instrumentalist of indigenous African instruments. Completing the line-up is LilyFaith, the Queen of versatility, she is young, vibrant, soulful, a storyteller through music, and composer of the theme song for this year’s Calabash edition – Sounds of Peace – Imvunge Yokuthula.
